  7. Hierarchical Storage Management:  MastarMind software consolidates network
  8. storage into a single, hierarchically managed resource.  This industry leading
  9. software works by combining the best features of magnetic disk, on-line
  10. optical, and off-line optical into a single network storage volume.  The
  11. network storage volume looks and feels like a standard magnetic disk with
  12. infinite storage capacity.  Data within the network volume is automatically
  13. migrated between the different levels in the storage hierarchy based on one of
  14. a number of user selected algorithms.
  15. Removable Volume Management:  Tracking and processing of removable volumes is
  16. handled entirely by MastarMind.  Each volume is electronically labeled to
  17. prevent against operator errors.  An on-line, nearline, and off-line location
  18. is stored in the volume database so that MastarMind can identify and access
  19. volumes that are not currently in a drive.  An interface is also provided that
  20. allows volumes of data to be transported between jukeboxes on different hosts.
  21. Disaster Recovery:  MastarMind provides inherent disaster recovery tools which
  22. are unique in the industry.  For example, with MastarMind any managed magnetic
  23. disk can be completely rebuilt from the underlying optical disk archive to
  24. prevent against catastrophic data loss due to magnetic disk failure.  In
  25. addition, all removable media created under MastarMind is written in a
  26. completely self-contained on-disk format.  Should a magnetic disk in the
  27. storage hierarchy fail, MastarMind will recover all of its data by rebuilding
  28. the file system from the removable media.
